MASON CITY — One person was injured after an argument escalated into gunfire outside a Mason City convenience store.
The Mason City Police Department says the incident happened near the Kwik Star at 15th Street Southwest and South Federal Avenue, near the gas pumps. Authorities say several men were involved in an argument before shots were fired.
One person was taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Police say those involved were taken into custody by Mason City officers and the Iowa State Patrol.
Additional details about the shooting are expected to be released later today.
