One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Mason City

MASON CITY — One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision Thursday evening in Mason City, according to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies, along with Clear Lake Fire Department and EMS, were called to the intersection of 265th Street and Killdeer Avenue at approximately 6:11 p.m. on Jan. 22 for a reported personal injury collision.
Authorities said a 2021 black Chevrolet Colorado, driven by David Edward Hansen of Clear Lake, and a 2008 blue Toyota Camry, driven by Leah Renae Redig of Britt, were both traveling westbound on 265th Street. Investigators determined the Chevrolet attempted to change lanes from the right lane to the left lane and made contact with the Toyota.
The impact caused the Toyota Camry to cross the median and strike a road sign before coming to rest on the roadway. Redig was transported by EMS to MercyOne North Iowa for treatment of a complaint of pain. Hansen was not reported injured.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Clear Lake Fire Department, EMS, and Lake Towing also assisted at the scene.
