The old Forest City Foods building remains vacant, but was once the potential site for the expansion of the Forest City Public Library. Expenses for the renovation of the building became too much and planners opted to move the library into the Waldorf University library. Since then, no changes have been made and the library remains at its current location.
Forest City Administrator Daisy Huffman gave the Forest City Council an update on the capital improvement project.
Many of those who donated to refurbish the Forest City Foods building for library use were unhappy with the move to Waldorf University and demanded their money back.
Huffman went on to explain where the monies stand for the capital project.
