Hancock County Board to Meet Monday

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors will meet on Monday beginning at 9am. You can view the meeting live at that time on kiow.com or b1031.com. The board will continue the informational meeting concerning the work to be done on Drainage District 97 with landowners and concerned residents. The work involves the installation of a private tile and a reclassification of the district.

The board will then consider signing a corrective easement with Windstream Holdings, Incorporated who are looking to laid down and bury fiber optic cable between Palm and Oak Avenue.

Hancock County Engineer Jeremy Purvis will give an update on the state of the county’s secondary roads. He will also ask the board to sign a 28E agreement with Forest City concerning road maintenance.

The board will also consider signing a Memorandum of Agreement with North Iowa Area Community College or NIACC on behalf of RSVP of North Central Iowa. This is a program that partners senior citizens and tutors with area students in reading programs.

The board will discuss with Purvis the current progress on the Maintenance and Storage garage construction. That will be followed with a discussion on the Courthouse/Law Enforcement repairs/improvements.
